NOT READY FOR SURGERY?
Not everyone seeking younger appearing eyes needs surgery. Injectables can frequently be placed around the eyes to camouflage fat prolapse. Resurfacing peels and lasers can help tighten excess skin. And BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used elevate the brow.
1) Many times the brow can be lifted with medicines like Botox or Dysport. When Botox is placed in precise and specific locations, it can actually elevate the outer brow. This puts the outer brow in a more youthful position and elevates some of the fullness of the upper eyelid.
If you have signs of early brow descent, ask Dr. Kolstad if you are a good candidate for a Botox Brow Lift.
2) Lines around the eyes, frequently referred to as “crow’s feet”. These respond favorably to BOTOX but require a highly trained and experienced provider to administer.
3) Dark circles under the eyes are frequently caused by descent of cheek fat pads which typically line the lower part of the eye socket. The loss of cheek volume leaves a depression under the eyelid resulting in a shadow in the tear trough. For someone in their 20’s or 30’s a good initial treatment would be to try an injectable filler like Restylane. Restylane can be placed into to tear trough to help camouflage dark circles under the eyes by adding volume.
