This patient did not like the wide bridge of her nose because she felt that it made her nose look too large for her face and drew attention away from her other facial features. She also did not like how her nostrils had a flared appearance and how there was excessive nostril exposure from the side view.

Dr. Kolstad is a Double Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and he has extensive expertise and experience achieving beautiful African American Rhinoplasty results that retain each patient’s unique ethnic features. Dr. Kolstad created cartilage grafts and perfomed complex bone remodeling to straighten the bridge and make the nose appear more slender. He enhanced the tip of this patient’s nose by lifting and adding projection to the nasal tip and tightening the hanging columella so her tip appears more refined. A nostril reduction was performed to narrow her nostrils and to improve their balance with the rest of her nose and face.
