Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty California

Welcome to Dr. Kolstad’s Piezo rhinoplasty before and after gallery featuring high quality, high definition nose job results.  This small sample features rhinoplasty outcomes created using ultrasonic vibration or piezoelectric energy to reshape the bridge. Embracing cutting-edge technology, Dr. Kolstad now utilizes ultrasonic energy to address large dorsal humps, narrow nasal bones, and contour the nasal bridge. Why the shift? Ultrasonic energy allows for highly precise, customized bone cuts with minimal trauma, resulting in significantly less bruising. This means more control for the surgeon and a gentler experience for the patient—what’s not to love!

Dr. Kolstad employs the piezotome for specific parts of the rhinoplasty procedure, using traditional instruments for other aspects. Piezo ultrasonic energy is used for reshaping the bone and hard cartilage, particularly effective for the upper third of the nose. The ultrasonic technology provides a smoother, more precise contour for the nasal bridge. Ideal candidates for ultrasonic rhinoplasty include those with wide or thick nasal bones, large dorsal humps, or crooked noses. Good candidates for piezo nose jobs should be in good health, have realistic expectations, and be prepared for at least one week of recovery. While there will be some bruising and swelling, ultrasonic rhinoplasty often results in significantly reduced bruising compared to traditional methods.
